Jennifer Furber
Instructor & Front Desk
Jennifer Beck Furber has been a believer in movement since taking dance from a young age and far into her 20s. When The Studio opened its doors, Jenn regularly attended sessions and found a thriving and supportive community for many years. When a serious brain injury required months of rehabilitation, Jenn turned to the healing method of Pilates to get firmly back on her feet. She is a Barre instructor because movement for strength and flexibility set to a great playlist is truly her happy place. Jenn loves working closely with The Studio clientele for the inspirational motivation and positive energy they bring to the community.
Originally from Massachusetts, Jenn relocated to the west coast for skiing and graduate school. She holds degrees in Poetry, Art History, and a M.A. in Elementary Education and Literacy. She works as a professional photographer and is also a published writer. Jenn is the Founder and Owner of Write Doe Bay, a bi-annual Writers Retreat on neighboring Orcas Island.
In 2007, Jenn and her family stopped on San Juan Island while aboard their sailboat. The islanders were so welcoming, they decided to move to Friday Harbor. When not chasing low tide, she can be found reading at home with her family, Russian box tortoise, bunny, cat, and German Shepherd.
