Jacquelyn Reiff, co-owner of The Studio, has more than twenty years of education and experience in sports medicine and physical education. Every interaction with a client is backed by her extensive experience in personal training, athletic training and rehabilitation, sports medicine, physical therapy, and leading classes in a wide range of fitness and wellness activities. With a commitment to providing the highest caliber of training based on her education and experience, Jacquelyn offers clients her knowledge, skills, guidance, and encouragement to help them achieve their desired fitness goals and enhance the quality of their lives. She encourages clients to develop body awareness and educate themselves on proper body mechanics and alignment. In doing so, Jacquelyn help her clients live healthier, eliminate pain, and improve posture and flexibility through innovative corrective exercise programs.
Jacquelyn holds a B.S. in Athletic Training from San Diego State University, A Master of Science in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University, and a National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist certification. Jacquelyn has completed her BASI Comprehensive Pilates program and is a certified BASI Pilates Instructor, as well as, Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) certified. She has advanced training through Polestar Pilates in Pathokinesiology of the lumbar spine, as well as, scoliosis. She has earned numerous fitness certifications, including: Piloxing, Piloxing Barre & Piloxing Knockout, Bootybarre, TRX/RIP Suspension Training, BOSU Integrated Balance Training, Indo-Row, PiYo, and Foam Roller Specialist. Currently she is working on her Barefoot Training Specialist certification and Advanced Teacher Training with Polestar Pilates. She was a Physical Education, Health Science, and Science teacher (WA and CA), who taught in the public school system for more than ten years.
Jacquelyn has worked with youth, collegiate, and Olympic athletes, as well as, aging populations, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient orthopedic patients. Having done so, she understands the needs and motivations of competitive athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and those simply trying to recover from injury. She understands the biomechanics of sports training and injury rehabilitation both academically and experientially. Overcoming her own physical challenges in 2010, Jacquelyn began to focus on Functional Training, specializing in strengthening the core, and increasing overall strength, mobility, stability, and flexibility through the Pilates method.
Active in her community, Jacquelyn is a board commissioner for San Juan Island Parks and Recreation and is liaison for Friends and Neighbors Support Island Rec (FANS). She has been a volunteer soccer coach for San Juan Soccer and T-Ball coach for Friday Harbor Athletics. In her free time, Jacquelyn likes to spend time at home with her husband, Ivan, and son, Brendan. She likes to garden and take care of her animals, which consists of 12 chickens, 3 goats, her dog Willow and cat, Pluto.
